Happy Birthday chickens

GREAT NEWS! AVAILABLE STARTING TODAY! Check out the new stamp set Hey Chick (well, technically an old stamp set from 2017 I think Sale-a-bration) and the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set (2021 Mini catalog) plus all the dies that are now available for both of them. At the end of the post today you can see the sets and their dies. Go to my Stampin' Up! website  https://sallymillians.stampinup.net to order today before they are gone. You know I love anything along the country theme; there are many adorable stamps sets that are available to go with both of those sets such as Ride the Range and the Darling Donkeys.  Check out the current annual catalog, the new Mini catalog, and the Sale-a-bration catalog for many ideas. I did a card a couple of weeks ago using several stamp sets that you may want to look at in previous posts.

Below you  will see the inside of the card. Notice the brightly colored streamers! Wonder why? I rocked the little chicken stamp and made a black ink mark from the edge of the stamp....of course it was the last image stamped, so I had to disguise the smudge...a dark Poppy Parade marker did the trick, but then I had to add other "streamers" to disguise the disguise, so to speak.

If your thinking the chicken coup is a stamp, it is not. I used only the die. I colored the die inner details with the side of the brush from a black Stampin' write marker before placing the die carefully (no wiggles) on Whisper White (yes, I am still using what I have left.) Word of caution: don't get ink inside the doorway...ask me how I know this. Afterwards, I used my Smokey Slate Blends to color in the image, with Daffodil Delight as the straw and Pool Party in the windows and the open doorway. The Chicken Wire is a retired item from 2017 I believe; however, there is a die that cuts a smaller version in the Hey Chick set, OR you could use the All Wired Up background stamp in the AC, stamped with VersaMark and embossed with silver embossing powder. I was going to use my Curvy die set for the grassy hill, but I had the Ride the Range set on my desk which has a perfect hill die in there. The splotches on the Garden Green hill are from the A Touch of Ink Sale-a-bration set, but there are many stamp sets that have little "splotchy" stamps, such as Painted Poppies, My Meadow, Snow Front, Beauty Abounds, Forever Fern, or Seaside Notions (and many of the past Paper Pumpkin sets) that will do the job just fine.
For the balloon, I couldn't find a suitable blue (I wanted Pacific Point) in SU! blends, so I had to use two Copic markers, B24 and B28. The DSP is from the Berry Delightful DSP in Sale-a-bration; the panels are cut at 5 1/2' x 3/4". The center Basic Black panel is cut at 5 1/2" x 2 7/8". I used adhesive sheets on Poppy Parade for the Happy Birthday. The only dimensionals I used was on the grassy hill, half the chicken, the balloon, and half the feed sack. I just wrote in the XOs on the feed sack with the black marker.
The base is thick Whisper White cut at 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2".

This card didn't take long to make actually. Get your sets before they run out and ....Have fun!
