LAST DAY!

Night of Navy
Hi friends! This is the last day to take advantage of the Stampin'Up! Sale-a-bration. If you order $50 worth of items you can get this beautiful Flowering Foils Designers series Paper!

Product List

I have colored the DSP with alcohol markers from SU! called Blends.
Seaside Spray

Shaded Spruce

Mint Macaron
I also used Copper foil paper and die cut it using new items that will be available in the 2020-2021 Annual SU! catalog to be released in June....we all cannot wait to see more of what SU! designers have come up with. I also used the sentiment from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set and the layering stitched rectangles dies. The copper/rose gold mirror embellishments are from, you guessed it, Everything is Rosey set (still available on the clearance rack for almost half price!).

True North

Hello from Moreland, Ga. With all the upset and uncertainty of the past few weeks and the weeks still yet to come, we all have to try to find our own true north and make peace within our own minds, our family, our communities, and our world. My pastor just finished a wonderful series of messages entitled True North. Of course we as Christians know God is our absolute True North; I guess you could say the True, true north. I stand amazed at how God keeps this world afloat in the universe and at the same time, keeps it acurately spinning, and maintains the pull of gravity and magnetic fields for us stay put on His earth. All of that my friend cannot be from a cosmic or biologic accident. Just sayin'.
This card was so much fun to make; and since we are talking about creation, it took many evolutionary steps to produce. We as card makers, and perhaps artists (I still cannot use that term for me, knowing my limitations) usually experience this. We have an idea in our minds, look for a stamp set to use (and sometimes that is the impetus before the idea), start pulling out and cutting paper and card stock, rummage through  embossing folders and dies, and then reach for the glue and/or our favorite tape runner, and don't even get me started talking about embellishments. Now this process can take a few minutes, or it can take an hour....who am I kidding....a few hours or days most likely. It is rather amusing sometimes to look at the original card and compare it to the one which makes the cut to be a blog entry. Usually they are vastly different....I have been known to honor the trash can with both in fact.

The Come Sail Away suite in the 19-20 Stampin' Up! catalog has been one of the most popular sets in the industry. It is pretty enough to be used alone and it is versatile enough to be used with other sets, old and new. I used the World embossing folder from a few years back along with the stunning navy and rose gold ribbon from one of my all-time my favorites,  Everything Is Rosey bundle. The rose gold is so close to a copper color, that it works well with copper embossing powder as I used for the compass. I used three of the Layering Circles dies for the focal element with one of the Smooth Sailing Dies for the compass arrow. We will have a new SU! catalog coming out soon; there is still plenty of time though to get your hands on this suite of beauty. Go to my Online Store on the right hand side to place an order.

For the inside of the card, I used the lighthouse from the set but I included the sentiment from the Woven Heirloom stamp set and the water elements from the Waterfront set.  In our winter occasions catalog we had the opportunity to buy some metallic ink pads; the copper is beautiful for stamping simple sentiments.
It is so important to let our family and friends know we are thinking  about them in this time of unprecedented need. We have a list of sweet men and women from our church and community who were our faith mentors not many years ago; they need regular uplifting from those of us who can take a few minutes to create, to call, or to pray for them. Now, this aging population is cut off from their families and even their pastoral care because of the need of social distancing; imagine working all your life for your community, your family, and the local economy only to probably die alone in a place that is not your home. It is heartbreaking! These people need to hear from those that love them.

In one of the messages my pastor Teresa shared with us, she said we are all leading someone, but to what end? The 20th century popular acronym WWJD (what would Jesus do?) is still pertinent today. Are we practicing social distancing? Are we washing our hands appropriately? Are we refraining from Facebook hyperbole and gossiping? Are we using this time at home effectively? Are we checking on others? Lead by example....follow the Lighthouse...
...And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead us o'er
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse
My ship would be no more...
...And I thank God for the Lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
For Jesus is the Lighthouse
And from the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me)
Where would this ship be.

Another Ornate Garden Preview Card

Ornate Garden Suite: but what is that yardstock color???
There is a NEW color listed on the Ornate Garden Designers Series Paper....Bumblebee. Now I have absolutely no idea what that color really is, my best guess is that is it the honey color that the daisies are in the paper. Hmmm...honey color.....we used to have a color called Hello Honey. I pulled out my old card stock and there it was! A few pieces still remained. I didn't have the ink pad though, but I do still have the Stampin' Write marker. Goes to show you that hoarding is not always a bad thing. I can't wait to see how Bumblebee compares to Hello Honey, but until the new catalog release in June, I'll use my remaining Hello Honey with a smile. Did you notice the embossing on the layered piece of cardstock? That is also available in the Suite or for individual purchase, as is the Terracotta Tile Ribbon, the stamps, and the Ornate Dies.

Check out the product link below. Of course Hello Honey isn't available now, but the Ornate Garden Suite as a whole or in part is available for demonstrators now and will be available for anyone to purchase as of April 1st! Stay tuned to see Bumblebee in the new Annual Catalog in June 2020!
