Bay Window fun fold : Shows card ready for display

Top Photo:
Shows green panel with a small note. This tells the recipient how to tuck it for display

Inside of card

This card was so much fun! Animals are cut straight from the DSP using the die set. The hay bales are stamped images and die cut.

Bay window dimensions :
Card Base: 11" x 4 1/4 " (Garden Green)
Score @ 5 1/2", 5 ", 3 1/2", 1 7/8", 3/8". -  fold and burnish all score lines
Use Tear-n-tape on the 1/2" fold line and adhere to card back (makes a "book binding")
DSP : (be careful if your DSP has a certain pattern or orientation)
  1 3/8" x 4 1/8"  - cut 3 for outside and 3 for inside (optional)
1/4" x 4 1/8" for Right side panel on inside . Adhere this panel with dimensionals on the outer edge only
Inside Back:
Basic White: 4" x 4"
So Saffron : 4 1/8" x 4 1/8"

The front sentiment (cloud) is from my ALL TIME favorite go to die set Give it a Whirl. The inside sentiment is from a retired set called Well Said.
The piggy's mud was stamped with an image from the Waterfront stamp set (retired I think). You could just use a marker and scribble.
The hardest part of this entire card was figuring out how to piece the cow together!

More from my desk cleaning "pile."

Wow! I guess I should clean more often! The pile of unused goodies on my desk was small but some things I just wouldn't let myself throw away. Here are a couple of cards that I made out of some of the items. I am now down to one die cut that needs a home; I may try to use it today, but if not, I have resigned myself to the fact that it may go 10-13 (to initiate transportation to an “emergency receiving facility” , i.e. the trash can).

I already know that the photo does not capture the beauty of this card. I used the Mosaic 3D folder with black card stock for a Christmas card workshop I did with some of our church people. I this lone panel left over. I recently ordered some gold and silver Lunar Paste from Simon Hurley after watching Kristina Werner do a card over the holidays. I have a special place in my heart for Kristina; she was the first person I ever followed on social media making cards. I try to still watch her as I can. (Factoid: she used to be a designer for SU! years ago. Some of the stamp sets I have were designed by her. ) Anyway, she used the silver paste on an embossed image and I wouldn't rest until I had some of the paste of my very own. I ordered it....and there it sat, unused for weeks. This Mosaic panel was an experiment using the paste for the fist time just to see what it would do. I fell in love with it! It dries quickly and covers as much of the image as you want. I used a light hand with a sponge; I wanted to still see the black underneath the gold. Now what to do with that pretty item?! I had the Flourishing Phrases set on the desk and decided to keep going with it. I used the Distressed gold DSP along with Basic Black to die cut some images and also do some inlay with in the flowers. The sentiment needed something to reflect the Middle Eastern theme. I used the Treasured Tag punch with a strip of 1" gold embossed basic black. The Gold ribbon added that little "something something" for texture and solid color.

The next item to ponder a home for was a Flirty Flamingo and black butterfly and a piece of Crumb cake Dots and Spots panel. HMMMM. I put the panel on top of a black glittered DSP and added the butterfly. Looked good but still needed more. I stayed with the Flamingo color and cut my sentiment from the new Stylish Shapes banner dies. I had to shorten the strip by repositioning the die on the sentiment and running it through the Mini SCEM once more. To fill space, I cut a couple more butterflies in black and Flamingo  and added Wink of Stella for POP.

He's The Man arrow card...in Portrait !

Several months ago I posted a card using the Arrow fun fold technique. It starts with a landscape A2 card and through some simple scoring, turns into an impressive, almost one layer, card, There are numerous examples on Pinterest and other media spots of how people have transformed this Arrow card into beautiful displays of DSP and stamp sets.

While cleaning up my desk the other day, I found a small pile of items I had been saving to work with "one day." Among those items was a scrap of He's the Man DSP and a Soft Succulent die cut from the Painted Label dies. The DSP was oddly shaped and the orientation was specific, so I was a little limited as to what I could do with it. As I pondered, I remembered the die was left over from some Arrow cards adventures from months ago. The DSP wasn't wide enough to use for a landscape card, but I could use it for a portrait card. And Viola'!

The sentiment is from the retired set Flourishing Phrases, one of my go to sets of all time. The inner banner was a cut out piece of ephemera in the DSP. That sentiment is from another retired set called Express Yourself. SIDE NOTE: I keep my retired sets in a different place, but of course I use them as I need to, especially the sentiment and die sets.
Refer to the previous post from September 2022 for arrow card instructions; you simply change the measurements for the portrait orientation vs the landscape.

You can shop directly from my online store for any of the products listed below, except for the retired sets of course.
