March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

The March kit has unlimited possibilities! So many have posted great projects using this kit. The envelope liners are a huge hit I think. Those resonated with me too. I cut 2 inches off the bottom of two of them to make my projects and still had plenty to use as a liner. I cut 1 inch squares and organized them in a quilt pattern so to speak; I also used the soon to be retiring in colors DSP pack. Of course I had to pull some things from the archives....my first die....the famous Top Note die....probably at least a decade old but still cuts like a charm. I also used the Art Gallery dies and foam adhesive for the sentiment; I used Petal Pink,, Crumb Cake, and Pretty Peacock as contrasting colors. I think it worked pretty well!

COVID CRAFTING

I have not blogged in several weeks...Yea, well, what do you do? My husband had COVID a few weeks ago,  but thankfully it was a relatively mild case. My focus was tending to his needs while keeping myself well, and of course there is the constant sanitizing....EVERYTHING. He was so good about limiting his interaction with things in the house and containing this illness. BUT I still cleaned every door knob, every light switch, the handles on anything, etc daily. He was diagnosed with it the same week we were supposed to get our vaccines....tough luck huh? Thank goodness I had stocked up on Lysol and Clorox clean up and wipes as I could ever since the initial wave of COVID last year. I might add that this was no easy task nor was it  cheap.  Well worth it in the end!

That meant we had no contact with the grandchildren and of course our children and spouses. I was their primary babysitter  so schedules had to be redrawn and some unanticipated time had to be taken by every one.

Since then, I have gotten my vaccine, but my husband has to wait 90 days to get his. I am back keeping my littles and we are on the other side of this thing. Wow, what a wake up call and a realization of so many have already gone through. We know we are so blessed to have had a great outcome. We also have very understanding family and friends who stepped up to the plate.

NOW, with all that being said, during my unexpected 10 days "staycation" and being banished to stay in my craft room for days (I say that like it was a bad thing just in case someone from my family reads this one day) I got some reorganizing done and some cards done....mostly using stuff I found as I reorganized. It was really fun! A ran across two large pieces of alcohol inked Yupo paper with various colors and splattered with gold. I had saved them because I did really like them, but what was I ever going to do with them?

All over Pinterest and You Tube were Butterflies from every company I subscribe to I think. I had not yet purchased the new Butterfly Brilliance bundle from Stampin' Up! so  to my stash I went. I cut several pieces of Basic Black from the Butterfly Beauty die set from (2019?) a while back. I then cut the Yupo paper into sections and cut more butterflies form the Butterfly Beauty dies. Oh my goodness! I ended up making 6 cards from all of this and an envelop full of various other smaller butterflies to be used later. I layered the cut outs on coordinating colors and added texture with the Tasteful Textile folder. I also took advantage of the Many Messages bundle cut outs I had already done and have at the ready on my desk in an envelope. I added some ribbon one card, but I felt it took up too much space so I went with gold twine after that.

Coffee Scented Cards.....who knew????

WHAT?? Scented cards?? Yes, and it is EASY! I had a workshop this weekend using the Latte Love bundle and DSP. As chance would have it, wh...
