Lazy Days, the Online Stamping Retreat session one, and Color Refresh!

Oh my goodness! The new colors from Stampin' Up! are so gorgeous! I have morned the retiring of Seaside Spray, the prettiest blue color of all time, for the last few years. BUT this new In Color Boho Blue is so very close to it. I'm one happy camper! I have paired it with Misty Moonlight, a former In Color  which is returning as a permanent color in the Neutral collection. The layout is from Gina Hawley from the Online Stamping Retreat session one. The bottom flap is supposed be adhered and the closure like a matchbook, but I opted to leave it open and only adhere the back flap to the card base.

There are so many fun elements to this card:

Stamp Sets- Lazy Days, Charming Sentiments, Bravo (retired), Grace's Garden (retired) for cat

Ink- Boho Blue, Pebbled Path, Momento Tuxedo Black, Early Espresso,Pecan Pie blends, Smokey Slate blends (cat), Old Olive blends, #900 blends, Real Red blends (birds),  Copper Clay Blends (Flower pot)

The porch railing- Pebbled Path

Vine- Old Olive

Sponging background- Boho Blue, Pebbled Path (inside only)

Layer- Misty Moonlight

Embossing Folder- Basic 3D

Dies- Lazy Days, Art Gallery (retired sentiment strip), Grace's Garden (cat)

DSP- 2023-2025 In Color Assortment

Basic Measurements:

Base: Boho Blue 3 3/4 x 9 3/4, score at 5 1/2

Misty Moonlight:  3 5/8 x 4 3/8

Basic White 3 1/2 x 4 1/4

* For the porch column, I cut it twice because I needed it to be taller than it actually was. I cut the column and inserted another small pice of another column to make it just a little taller. Hence the vine to help hide the seams!

Inside: White 3 1/2 x 9 1/4, scored at 5 - cut 1/2" in from each side, down 1" to make the inner step. Score at the base of the 1" section

DSP for step: 2 1.2" x 7/8" (cut 2)

Flap: Boho Blue 2 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored at 1 1/4

         Misty Moonlight 1 1/8 x 4 1/8

         Boho Blue 1 x 4 , embossed with Basic 3D folder

Embellishments: Pebble Enamel Shapes (on the clearance rack!)

SUOC # 324 Color challenge Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, and Calypso Coral

Playing in the Rain suite

I discovered a wonderful SU! demonstrator  named Carol Buckalew from inkybeestampers who did a great PDF /blog hop showing this design.. She also used the Playing in the Rain suite. I have used this design with this suite for several cards, but I was stuck in the blues and gray motif with the DSP. When I saw the Stampin' Up! only challenge using these colors, I wanted to give it a go using this design and suite. It turned out to be my favorite.

I also used the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder. The bridge is three layers of Cardstock to give it a little nature, if you will. I use two under layers of Evening Evergreen and the top layer of soft Succulent. For the embellishments and the sentiment I turned to my February Paper Pumpkin kit which I have really enjoyed using with this suite.

The back of the card has another piece of Pale Papaya embossed with the Cane Weave 3D folder to have some continuity and flow. I also tried another card using a window sheet behind the inner panel so I could place some clouds above and behind the fox....don't try it. It didn't work well at all.

Coffee Scented Cards.....who knew????

WHAT?? Scented cards?? Yes, and it is EASY! I had a workshop this weekend using the Latte Love bundle and DSP. As chance would have it, wh...
