Several years ago, I watched Jennifer McGuire 's You Tube channel demonstrating a Pendulum card. It was very memorable; I had never seen anything like that! I sort of put it in the back of my mind and filed it away in the "to do" section with countless other ideas waiting to come to fruition.
I had the opportunity to join Erica Cerwin's (Pinkbuckaroo) Class To Go for the stamp set Taco Fiesta a few weeks ago. Even though I am a demo myself, I wanted to be a part of this because she actually designed the stamp set as part of her Million Dollar sales achievement. The stamp set I received was autographed by Erica and made it very special. Her card designs and project layouts were so fun and bright! I really enjoyed the entire class! One of the designs used the piñata hanging from twine...my mind went BINGO!! The pendulum! I watch Jennifer's video a couple of times and then put it into practice using Erica's basic design and substituted the pendulum. It worked! I had to make a few tweaks to the pendulum design but only because I was using a smaller area that Jennifer used.
For my March 2023 workshop with our stamping group of ladies, we used this Taco Fiesta pendulum card. My 7 year old granddaughter Katelyn joined us for the workshop. She loves crafting and helping me do anything with stamping. She actually was a HUGE help the day of the workshop. She cleaned stamps, organized, and packed up used items as we worked. She came up with the idea of incorporating a stick on the card for the piñata "wacking."
I was so surprised when I watched Erica's Friday's You Tube recording. She showed our card and was so kind and complementary about it. Katelyn and I were so thrilled to watch it. I have it linked here.Pinkbuckaroo designs you tube
Below is my You Tube video demonstrating the pendulum technique. Please consider that this video adventure is so new to me. I certainly hope it becomes more natural to me as time goes on, but for now it is definitely foreign territory. My southern accent SO prominent and obvious; my 6th grade teacher told me I made Gomer Pyle sound like a Yankee. I've been self conscious of it ever since! It is what it is though. Also, my hands are so arthritic they make looking at them work painful. I'm also double jointed which cause a hyperextension of certain joints. YUCK! Put all that aside though and watch to learn the technique.
