More Wonderful World work

If your craft space doesn't include Press-n-Seal, go and get you a roll to keep in there! It is so handy to hold die cuts in place before or after cutting in your die cutting machine. To get it off, you do have to be mindful to peel it away slowly from your die cuts. This particular technique was popular a few years ago. One of the best videos demonstrating this is from Bruno Bertucci found here .Press-n-seal has so many uses, i.e. turn it face up for holding card stock steady while stamping with the Stamparatus, watercoloring small images, and especially using stencils. Turn it face down to hold dies in place on images before die cutting...game changer! It is very sticky, so you might want to remove some of the stickiness by placing it on clothing or your skin prior to using on the DSP.

I used images from the DSP Wonderful World which I fussy cut from the perimeter of one of the sheets. The images were already incomplete on the edges of the sheet so I figured they would be fine for this technique. The sentiment is from a retired set called Itty Bitty Greetings, but any small sentiment you choose will fit here. I almost used Versamark and embossed in white on Starry Sky card stock, but I chose a more simple method. The beautiful stamped image is from the Stamp Set bundle. I colored it with Stampin' Write markers. This was my first opportunity to use the deckled edge rectangle dies! I love the subtle "ragged" edge it cuts.

What a Wonderful Wonderful World... per Art Garfunkle

I can't tell you how much I love the Designer's Series Paper (DSP) called Wonderful World from Stampin' Up's Sale-a-bration. I very seldom, and by that I mean never, use a whole pack of paper, but I almost have!   The DSP is connected to a stamp set in a bundle, so I can't get more without getting another stamp set to go with it.....but that's OK.....I can always gift the extra  stamp set. The stamp set has a variety of flower images which are Distinctive....meaning they have a unique self-layering property that enhances the beauty of the image. This images are best stamped with an ink pad which is not "sloppy" wet or else stamped in a second generation (stamped off once, then stamp the image on your project).

This time, I chose to highlight the DSP and not use a stamped image from the bundle. The flower image was simply cut out of the DSP with my layering Circle dies. The sentiment is taken from the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin stamp set. I had it on my desk and the sentiment spoke to me. I keep the PP stamps in a case on my desk at the ready for use if I have a stamp set which does not contain a sentiment.

The side panel uses is a twisted ribbon technique (thanks to Lisa Cursio; watch the technique here)

In a nut shell, this is how the twisted ribbon technique works. Cut about 8 one half inch by 2 1/2 inch strips in a contrasting color and from the patterned paper you want on the front. On a piece of Basic white (2 x 5 1/2 inches) mark every half inch with a small tic mark alone BOTH sides, THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT (not front and back). Start with the contrasting color or the color you want to be underneath, and start with the 1/2" strip in the top left corner and go diagonal to the first tic mark (using the top of the 1/2" piece). Work your way down the basic white diagonally with the underneath color. Trim off any excess from the backside. Turn the paper around and start the same process with the patterned paper strips; trim the excess from the back.

I layered the panel on a 2 1/8 piece of Soft Seafoam and backed with dimensionals. The Blackberry Bliss card front was embossed with the Brick and Mortar folder, and I lightly sponged it with white craft ink to highlight the brick design. The sentiment was stamped on a 1/4 inch strip of Basic White previously cut from the retired (but wonderful!) Many Messages die. The Brushed Brass Butterflies were just small enough to add a little bling but not a distraction from the technique.

Sale-a-bration products are GORGEOUS!

I danced with both of my sons at their wedding to Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." When Stampin' Up! came out with this bundle called Wonderful World, my heart felt a warm fuzzy.

Pictures do not do this card justice. Stamping boo-boos, misalignments, and poor lighting are obvious. The new In Color Orchid Oasis is a blueish purple that can only be described as AAHHHH. This Designer's Series Paper (DSP) is the real star of the show. It is simply stunning! It hurts your feelings to put glue on either side. The card design is a CASE from Rachel Tessman at Stamp Your Art Out You Tube Link; it looks complicated,  but certainly is not. It allows for the the DSP to be shown off. The belly band is an option, but it provides a canvas for a stamped image as well as holds the card together nicely. I used Stampin' Rite markers to color the stamp before putting it on the die cut. It needed a little "somethin"' so I added brushed brass butterflies. I used a rectangle from the retired Stitched So Sweetly dies for my stamped image, but truly any shape will do.

The DSP and the stamp set (Wonderful World bundle) (flower image) are  FREE during Sale-a-bration when you spend $100 in product from my website.

Here is the same card design using the same DSP pack and stamp set, but it highlights another one of the In Colors, Polished Pink. The card base is Mossy Meadow, one of the colors in the neutral category.
What you don't see is a small 4 inch by 1 1/2 inch  piece of cardstock , scored at 1/2 and 1 inch  "Z fold" moving mechanism  under the front panel. The card base is also scored on the sides to a "Z fold" with panels attached to provide a telescoping effect when opening and closing the card. I love this design! Thank you Rachel for sharing!
